Dallas John Baker

Associate Professor Dallas Baker was the program coordinator and team leader of the editing and publishing discipline at the University of Southern Queensland. Dallas was responsible for the management and oversight of three degrees, the Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and the Master of Editing and Publishing. For 8 years, until the end of 2022, Pema taught creative writing, editing and publishing in the School of Creative Arts at the University of Southern Queensland. Before that Dallas taught Creative Writing and Cultural Studies at Southern Cross University for 7 years. Dallas also has three decades experience in all aspects of editing and publishing, including commissioning new works, developmental editing, copyediting, proofreading, author liaison and book project management. Dallas was awarded a PhD in the discipline of Written Communication from Griffith University in October 2012, and has a Master of Arts in Creative Writing from Swinburne University. Dallas is also a published author with more than 60 works in print, including books, journal articles, research papers, and stage plays. Dallas is currently an adjunct Associate Professor in Creative Writing at the University of New England, Australia.
